The power to select an IT company in which you are going to work completely lies with you. Well, If you have prepared enough for attending an interview (unless you feel it is done), the next step with which you need to proceed is choosing a company.
The mind set of today's generation tends to get placed in a company (whatever it is). But they deny to look back the drawbacks. Not every company has the great potential to encourage and pay the way for the growth of the freshers. Only some does it (merely very few).
I want my readers to be aware of this because most of the companies make their employers to sign a bond (SLA). And hence this is the major thing to be noted.
What is SLA?
SLA stands for service level agreement. It is more like a contract between the company and the employee which would cover all the necessary details like scope, quality, work hours, etc. Violation of this contract needs the employee to pay some amount of money as mentioned in SLA.So, its time to take a note on all these following parameters before choosing a company.
1. Package
This is the most important thing to be noted. All of us work for salary and we really expect it to be something worthy. Make sure that you collect the salary information from the seniors or some employees of that respective company. Glassdoor is one among the best websites to provide these details of a company.2. Branches / Relocation
The candidate must make note on the branches of the company and also enquire about the relocation facilities that it provides. Most of the top MNC's has branches in most important cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, etc.3. Transport facilities
This again appears to be an important one where only few MNC's and the startups could provide the transport facilities as Cabs, Buses, etc. For the rest, its the responsibility of the employee to make arrangements for the transport.4. Scope for freshers
Almost all the companies recruit people every year or even every 6 months. But not all provide the scope for the growth of the freshers. Certain companies pay the freshers based on some parameters on your performance.5. Bench aspects
'On Bench' refers that the employee hasn't be allotted to be a part of any project in the company. This mode has seriously negative peaks in your career graph.6. Working hours
This would vary depending on the type of the work, nature of the company, etc. Many companies also allot night shifts even for women employees.7. Insurance
Some companies do also provide insurance, medical expenses, and maternity leave etc. This would vary from company to company.8. Mandatory certifications
Some companies may expect their candidates to have completed course on certain subjects. I have already mentioned about some free courses, certification and the online courses earlier. Also then, most of the companies (not the startups) provide training for their employees at the start of their career.I have made another list of parameters that you must know about a company in terms of interview aspects. And these are certain things that are to be noted before you select an IT company to work or to get hired.
