After Graduation

Getting graduated is happening as a common event that could be seen everywhere. Once upon a time, graduation/ getting a degree was even considered to be an achievement. But now, it is more of a routine.

Have a glance on some facts

India produces 50 lakh graduates every year. Experts say with poor English language skills, computer training and analytical ability, making a cut from the classroom to the boardroom is not easy

Who knew? The number of graduates at the time you read this might be more than this. As stated above English is one major this that most of the students feel hectic about.

Out of 3 lakh MBA graduates, only 10% are employable

I don't mean to take the surveys. I just want to know with the world fully dependent on the single language - English, with the standards of education getting as lower and cheaper as much as it can, where are we going? When the outcome of the graduates are this high why don't they all get a job? What's wrong and why does it happen?

Why we need a degree?

A deep passion on something would make people to learn and to expertise it. And thus there are the graduation programs. Remember being a graduate doesn't any value to you in person. It is considered yet an other ordinary thing that is must. 

But now, getting a degree has become a minimum requirement now-a-days. The idea on the life after their graduation is a big question mark. This is because they do not have a clear view on what could be done and how could it be made possible. They hardly get few advising seniors or caring staffs to explain them all these. 

It is said that the students are most likely to choose the life and the career turn only after they complete their graduation. Though there are numerous paths to opt a life after their graduation, the thing is that they are ignorant. Many people are left with no traces of the path after the graduation.

What to do after graduation?

After struggling to get all your backlogs cleared (if at all), do you think that you have made all things that are to be done? And you could accept my thought that you are striving to kill this question "What next?". Every one you see will throw this question at you. When you don't have a proper plan, you will be left in a situation to answer them with some blur philosophies and rubbish reasons.

There are several ways to get yourself comfortable after you complete your graduation. And certain things are listed as -

1. Getting a job.

2. Planing for higher studies.

3. Self employment.


The above said 3 terms might cover your path after graduation. After holding your degree, you might either plan for higher studies or could feel comfortable with your own business. Where these two options are considered to be approximately low in the number of people choosing it, more than 2/3 rd of the graduates choose the first option - "Getting a job".

How to choose our career?

"Effort is an important thing but knowing where to make is lot more important"

 - because it is the one which would lead your life. 

Make a wise choice on where to make sow the seeds. Wise choice doesn't mean that you need to plan which one will give you high returns, the real wise choice is choosing something that could be made possible by you. 

Students often make mistakes in choosing their career and they later regret it saying Its the wish of my parents and so and so. Whatever it is, now you should have known that whoever had made the choice on your career, is not the one facing it and you are the only soul who might work hard to get your fruit.  

Consider these tips below (only a suggestion) and this might give you a sitemap of what to do and what not. If you feel that you want refine your goal in the path of learning, then higher studies would be a fair option. If you haven't set for it (or) if you feel that backlogs are so frustrating, opt the employment part - either self or the other. 

Tips to choose your career

Plan in advance - This is the key note as you can't go and choose your career just like that after your graduation. Make sure that you keep a clear goal before you make a step out from your college.

1. Know your interests. 
2. Have a consultation with some experts. (Just a consultation but the choice must be yours).
3. Get to talk with kinds of people - job goers, job seekers, learners, employers, etc.
4. Plan your financial needs and conditions well ahead.

I can only help you to sort with the ways that could make you path better but i'm sorry that I (not anyone for that matter) can't choose your path. This is your life and you are the only person who has the solid role in it. The choice that you make here is going to rule your future life. Keep that in mind and choose you career after graduation to be a leading one.
