Getting a job

India is one of the most populated countries in the world, second after China. With a workforce of more than 440 million, a huge pool of English-speaking graduates and a fast-growing economy, the need for employment opportunities has increased drastically.

- says AICTE.

Getting a job is one among the three paths that students choose after they have made their graduation. The other two would be - Higher studies and Self employment.

If you don't build your dream, someone will make you to build their own's.

This is the exact this of getting a job. You are going to make a job for you which would help some company to progress in some nature. You make it for you and the company in which you land.

What are the types of jobs for a graduate?

First of all, have a brief look at the possible fields, what are the possible sectors, their pay scale, etc where one might find a job. The jobs for a graduate may be broadly classified follows -

1. Companies.

2. Government sectors and Teaching.
3. Self employment.

How to get a job in companies?

Some of  the colleges do not make any campus drives which is not a great problem at all. We would have heard many people saying that there is a little chance of getting a job, if you haven't made it on your campus placements. Trust me that is all a crap. You will get a job if you are really opting for it. I will make sure that I cover all the important keys that must be noted by the candidate to make Interview day as theirs.

Campus Drives

Getting job in a company is now easier than any other as now-a-days many colleges make the arrangements for the campus drive in any of the way (either by money or partnership). Usually the colleges would make a loyal agreement with some MNC's (Multi-National Companies) to arrange the placements for their students.

The percentage of the campus placement of their college helps them in getting admissions and so and so. This is a very great chance for the students to get their jobs before they get their graduation. This is the easiest way to get the jobs as the college will try to support you to the maximum to get it done. There are also few colleges that provides proper training to make their students to get placed.

Off-Campus

This is a type of arrangement made by the collage (mostly that doesn't have the enough strength of eligible students) so that the students from various other colleges also get participated. The students would get the offer letter in hand before the graduation.

On-site

This is most common to the students who doesn't make it at the Campus drives. The candidate will be asked to appear at the venue mentioned by the company to conduct the interview. Whatever the arrangements be - either a campus drive, or a off-campus or a (company) On-site, the key lies in the way that you attend the interview.

How to get a government job?

Getting a government job could be a little difficult during the start but its more of a base for a well planned future as it provides security, pension and other benefits for you and your family. The government provides job in both the technical as well as the teaching field. The major advantage of the government job is the endless favorable benefits (e.g-pension) to their employees which are almost not available in most of the private sectors.

What is Self-employment?

Self employment is the best one for the graduates where you need not be dependent on someone else for your needs. The thing is you must have a clear idea and also a little investment. I have already made a clear note on this category - self employment and you can very well check it out to get some idea.
